Ernest
de l’Autin, Ean as known by friends and associates, is currently
an Independent Consultant, Author, and Lecturer.
In the past twenty years he
has authored or co-authored over a dozen technical articles, edited at least
a dozen technical articles, and of recent has completed two novels. He has three
more novels underway.
Ean holds a B.S. in Analytical Chemistry from Nicholls,
and a Masters +60 in Polymer Science from the Polymer Institute at the University
of Southern Mississippi. He is also a certified Master Practitioner in Neuro-Lingustic
Programming and maintains an HRD Certification from the University of Oklahoma.
He has worked in the US and internationally in a broad range of responsibilities
• beginning his career
as a research scientist
• teaching as a university
professor
• motivating high-risk
teenagers
• and working in corporate
America and moving into management consulting.
His journey has led him to the discovery that writing real life experience in
fiction while using the art of myth and metaphor can be an extraordinary manner
in which to share life lessons and specific perceptions.
His experiences as a
scientist, teacher, businessman, consultant, and author have provided a broad
range of opportunities to experience people on a number of levels.
• As a scientist he discovered
a role that technology can play, including its limits.
• As a teacher he learned
that people want to learn in a fun, energizing, entertaining way that appropriately
challenges them to grow.
• As a businessman he
found that people aren’t an organizations greatest asset, they are the
organization.
• As a consultant he confirmed
that people typically do not care how much you know until they know how much
you care.
• As an author he has
discovered that caring can be expressed in the written word allowing others to
tap into their hearts and souls (including his own) at their own private pace.
When integrated together, he has had the privilege of watching
individual and organizational excellence flourish.
Ean’s mission as an author and lecturer
is simple. He hopes to engage readers into self-exploration by providing fictional
material based on the human experience that is well written, entertaining, amusing,
sobering, and real. As a consultant, Ean serves clients in achieving top-quartile
performance by optimizing and then integrating the people, processes, technological,
and economic systems required to operate a successful enterprise.
Ean considers
himself a student of organizational change, practicing the integration of people,
processes, technologies into high performing systems producing top quartile economic
results. Writing novels has provided him with extraordinary insight into other
people. He has discovered that these insights are frequently nothing more than
mirrors to his own soul.
Ean believes that luck is the result of opportunity meeting
preparation resulting in the maximization of human, process, technological, and
economic systems. Discovering the root cause to highly successful individuals
and organizations has led him to a love of writing fiction that expresses the
journey undertaken to achieve that success, whether it be small victories over
life’s challenges, or
organizational excellence.
